This year LDN has been blessed with some
excellent photographers who share their work exclusively with us so
that we may bring it our readers for their enjoyment.
We want to acknowledge all those who help us
throughout the year to give you some of the best images of local
events you'll find anywhere.
Those who help us so much include staff member
Karen Hargis, on-call photographers Jessie Eynon and Lisa Ramlow, Mount
Pulaski sports photographer Teena Lowery, and our publishers,
editors and writers, including Curt Fox, Derek Hurley, Hannah Michalsen, Nila Smith, Fuzz Werth, Jan Youngquist and Jim
Youngquist.

March 5 -- Last week it was warm temps, high
winds and blooming crocuses. Sunday night it was snow. What can we
say? It's March.

March 19 -- There are those in Lincoln who
think our mayor is so great he walks on water. Now there's proof.
(photo undoctored) Seriously, Mayor Keith Snyder won (or lost) a
competition at the Rotary Club, and good sport that he is, he took
his turn in Lincoln Lakes for the good of Special Olympics, and yes,
he did eventually get wet! |

March 1 -- Polar Plunge -- These LCHS
teachers really put on the glam as the Railer royalty team.
March 24 -- Washington-Monroe Principal Ginger Yeazle helped students imagine making a "Spring Escape" into outer
space by donning this special suit on Thursday. It was all part of
their annual Spring Escape activity day, where children explore what
is beyond the borders of their own community with an imagined
"travel day."

This year the scholarship committee awarded eight scholarships
totaling $10,000.
Pictured, from left, are John Hartman of the chamber scholarship
committee and recipients Chelsea Coers, Hannah Allen, Nicholas
Davis, Zack Huffer, Morgan Kincheloe and Andrew McCarty, along with

March 29 -- When Sue Ryan began her career
with Lincoln College, she could not have known she was starting a
family tradition. This year Sue is leaving her position at the
college, but there will be plenty of family members to help keep the
college running. In today's Top Stories, Justin Tierney offers a
tribute to Sue and the entire Ryan family on behalf of Lincoln
College.
Pictured above are Sue and Jim Ryan in the foreground. From left to
right in the back are Brileigh Sarnes, Andrew Ryan, Joe Ryan,
Michelle Ryan, Bridgett Thomas and Tony Thomas. This photo was taken
at McKinstry Library at Lincoln College.
