Feb. 24 -- Talented people have been working
some magic on the former Lincoln Furniture store, turning it into an
artist's den. Located next to the post office and across from the
Logan County Courthouse, the building was built by Odd Fellows. The
nearly 100-year-old structure is improving in looks and character.

Feb. 24 -- Mount Pulaski teacher wins $25,000
in McDonald's "You Want Fries With That" contest.
Students at Zion Lutheran School in Mount Pulaski cheer for their
teacher, Mrs. (Jean) Davis, as she prepares to be swept away in a
white limousine to Chicago. Davis found out Thursday afternoon she was a really big
winner. |

Feb. 25 -- LCHS FFA wraps up week with
breakfast and Tractor Day
Student drivers such as Troy Rawlings of New Holland were en route
to school as early as 5:45 a.m. Other drivers included Todd Irwin,
Nick Davis, Kyle Klockenga, Ryan Hedrick and Clay Irwin, who
pickup-truck-pooled from their remote parking area to curbside the
cafeteria. Inside, everyone was enjoying an FFA-sponsored toasty,
farm-style breakfast including biscuits and gravy. |

March 7 -- One step closer to reality. Monday
night the Lincoln City Council endorsed the concept plan for the
APEX at City Center. The plan for the APEX has been months in the
working, but in the end, members of the committee who helped design
the APEX said they were satisfied and excited about their concept.
The next step will be finding the funding to build the APEX.

Aug. 18 -- Gail and David Sasse, the owners
of Gail's Pumpkin Patch in the rural Beason area, were recently
recognized by Judy Barr Topinka at the Illinois State Fair in
Springfield. The state comptroller annually recognizes outstanding
ag-tourism businesses as part of her office's "Agri-Tourism Day" at
