Aug. 3 -- Honestly now, does it get any
cuter than this? Mark and Lexi Merriman of Kenney won first place
with their 4-year-old miniature halter horse in the open horse
competition this week. Lexi, 2, is "duded" out, complete with spurs!

Aug. 3 -- Horses for harness racing are
stabled east of the track

Aug. 6 -- We think it might have been
wishful thinking that inspired the artist of this cute little Eskimo
cake submitted for consideration at the Logan County Fair this year.
Fair week was, to say the least, a little warm all week long. Now
that it is over, weather forecasts seem to indicate that it may cool
down a bit. |
Aug. 7 -- Now that is one big dirt clod!
Sunday afternoon at the mud bogs, this young fella decided he
preferred his mud dry. He found this dirt clod near the bog pit and
had plans to roll it back to his seat, until his folks told him to
let it be. In the end he settled for a much smaller one that he
could carry in his pocket. |

Aug. 20 -- Sunday afternoon while friends and
family looked on, the Utterback family scooped up the the symbolic
first scoops of dirt at the groundbreaking for their new home.
