Stanley B. Hodgdon, 79, of Lincoln, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at OSF
St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.

Lincoln-Stanley B. Hodgdon, age 79, of Lincoln, IL
died at OSF St. Joseph
Medical Center in Bloomington, IL on Sunday,
December 23, 2012.
Stanley was born November 5, 1933 in Lincoln, IL,
the son of Frank and Neva Charles Hodgdon. He was
united in marriage to Carol Ann Shay in 1960. She
preceded him in death on December 27, 2008. He
was united in marriage to Bonetta Stollhans on July
20, 1989 in
Forsythe, Missouri. She survives.
Stanley is also survived by 3 daughters: Gayle (Don)
Wolschlag, Jayne
Hodgdon-Prince and Marya (Jason) Dolan all of
Bloomington, IL, 2 sons,
Jeff (Katie) Stollhans of Okamis, Michigan and Jerry
(Julie) Stollhans
of DuQuoin, IL, 10 grandchildren and 1 great
granddaughter, 1 sister, Delores (Robert) Bergman of
Mt. Pulaski, IL, 2 brothers, Norman (Lynette)
Hodgdon and Gerald Hodgdon both of Lincoln and many
nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his
parents, 3 half
brothers and 1 half sister.

Stanley was retired in 1995 from Ameren Cilco where
he worked for 35 years as an inspector. He was an Air Force
Veteran during the Korean War in France and Germany where he
learned the electrical trade and was responsible for the
lighting of runways. After returning
to Lincoln, where Stan was a lifelong resident, he did
electrical work for
many Lincoln area families. Stan was a member of the
American Legion Post #263 where he was a past adjutant. Stan
was an instructor for a number of years for Junior
Achievement.
Stanley was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and
great
grandfather. He will be greatly missed.
Stanley’s wishes were to be cremated. An informal memorial
gathering will be held on Sunday, December 30, 2012, at the
American Legion Post #263, 1740 5th St. in Lincoln, IL from
2-4 P.M. Military rites will be accorded by the Legion Post
at 2:00 P.M on Sunday.
Arrangements were entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home
in Lincoln, IL.
Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery, Beason, IL at a later
date. In lieu
of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Legion
Post #263
Building Fund.
