June 23 -- There were a lot of happy kids in
Atlanta Friday afternoon as they learned the park district won a
$25,000 grant for new playground equipment. Members of the community
turned out to celebrate the grant that was awarded by State Farm
Insurance, thanks to the efforts of everyone in the community who
voted for Atlanta in a Facebook contest.

Sept. 22 -- Friday morning Carlee and Charlie
were just clowning around in Lincoln. With Abraham Lincoln Tourism
Bureau of Logan County director Geoff Ladd acting as their guide,
they stopped in to visit Mayor Keith Snyder for a few minutes.
Charlie and Carlee are promoters for the Kelly Miller Circus that
will be coming to town on Oct 6. See more of their adventures in
Lincoln in the album below.

Sept. 28 -- "I get by with a little help from
my friends." Above, the young lady was struggling with an elusive
hot dog, but with a little help, the dog finally made it to the bun.
This is just one scene caught during the community night at Melrose
Park Thursday evening. The park was indeed a fun place to be with
plenty of food and opportunities to play with real police cars, fire
trucks and dump trucks. |

Sept. 29 -- It may be hard to believe, but
this is a picture of folks playing golf at North Greens Golf Course
in Atlanta. Friday night the Lincoln & Logan County Development
Partnership hosted an after-dark golf fundraiser event. The players
wore glow necklaces. They also strapped them on their golf carts so
they could find the carts, and their golf balls had lights in them.
It was the first time such an event has been held at the course, but
more than likely will not be the last.
