[February 01, 2012]  The theater department at Lincoln College announces the upcoming performances of "A Year With Frog and Toad."

A family-friendly musical, the show is based on the "Frog and Toad" children's stories, written and illustrated by Arnold Lobel. The musical follows the adventures of two amphibious friends: a worrywart toad and a perky frog. Along the way, the audience will enjoy their interactions with an assortment of colorful companions as they hop, crawl and fly through the woodlands over the course of one year.

Kenneth Kendall, Lincoln College's director of theatre, said the show will feature an extremely talented six-person cast, as well as a live pit orchestra.

"This is one of those shows with something for everyone in the family to enjoy," said Kendall. "The students have worked extremely hard in recent weeks, fine-tuning the details of their characters. The audience can expect a fantastic show."

The show will be presented Wednesday-Friday, Feb. 15-17, at 7:30 p.m. and on the weekend of Feb. 18 and 19 at 2 p.m. in the Hostick Theatre in the Johnston Center.

There will be an opportunity for the audience to speak with the cast and crew after the weekend matinee performances.

Seating is very limited. People interested in preordering tickets should call 217-732-3155, ext. 280.
