Springfield Municipal Opera announces auditions workshop

SPRINGFIELD -- The Springfield
Municipal Opera will have an auditions workshop Feb. 18 in
preparation for their upcoming auditions for the 2012 season. The
Muni encourages anyone interested in auditioning to attend the
workshop at the Hoogland Center for the Arts, 420 S. Sixth St. in
Springfield.

Performers of all ages, sizes and abilities will be required for the
2012 season, with "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,"
"Crazy for You," "Once on This Island" and Disney's "Beauty and the
Beast."
The audition workshops are an opportunity to learn about the
audition process, including how to register and prepare for an
audition, and to hear the expectations of each show's staff.
The workshop session for children will begin at 10 a.m., and the
adult workshop will follow at 10 p.m. Sign-ups for the audition time
slots will begin immediately following the auditions workshop.
2012 Muni auditions for adults will be on March 3, 4 and 10, with
call-backs scheduled for March 11. Muni children's auditions will be
on March 17, with call-backs scheduled for March 18. All auditions
and call-backs will be at the Hoogland Center for the Arts. For more

The Muni performances will be at its lakeside, outdoor
amphitheater, 815 East Lake Drive.
