            		ELKHART -- Marie L. Pickett, 85, of 
			Elkhart, died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at 2:04 p.m. at Memorial 
			Medical Center in Springfield. (Below is a copy of 
							the obituary from the funeral home.) ___ 
							Elkhart-Marie L. Pickett, 85, of Elkhart, passed 
							away at 2:04 p.m. on February 15, 2012 at Memorial 
							Medical Center, Springfield, IL. 
							Marie was born on October 8, 1926 the daughter of 
							Walter J. and Florence Gasaway Damarin in Elkhart 
							Township. She married Phillip F. Pickett on Feb. 17, 
							1946 in Mt. Pulaski, IL. He preceded her in death 
							Aug. 21, 1996. 
							She is survived by one son: Phillip W. (Diana) 
							Pickett of Elkhart, IL; three daughters: Linda M. 
							(Dean) Dyess of LaPorte, TX; Connie L. (Nik) Liesman 
							of Conyers, GA; Edith S. (John) Edie of Auburn, IL; 
							one brother: Richard (Maureen) Damarin of Mason 
							City, IL; two sisters: Dorothy Gleason of Lincoln 
							and Frances Pickett of Elkhart, IL; eleven 
							grandchildren and 17 great- grandchildren. She was 
							preceded in death by her husband, parents; one 
							daughter: Mary Ann Pickett and one brother: Wilford 
							Damarin. | 
                    
					 
							Marie was a leader within the community, in 4-H, a 
							65-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary 
							#616, 40 et 8 Cabana. She was a clerk for Hurlbut 
							Township, a bus driver and incredible model and role 
							model for her children and grandchildren. 
							Services for Marie will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, 
							Feb. 18, 2012 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral 
							Home, Lincoln with Rev. Darrell Howard 
							officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, 
							Lincoln. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7:00 p.m. 
							at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to 
							American Legion Auxiliary #616 or Elkhart United 
							Methodist Church. |
