GameStop, Jones Group, Inhibitex are big movers

[January 10, 2012]  NEW YORK (AP) -- Stocks that moved substantially or traded heavily Monday on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq Stock Market:

The Jones Group Inc., down 22 cents at $9.09

The company, whose brands include Nine West and Anne Klein, said it has ended talks on the potential sale of its jeanswear division.

Acuity Brands Inc., up $4.62 at $54.94

The lighting maker said its fiscal first-quarter profit climbed 23 percent as sales improved in part because of higher prices.

GameStop Corp., down 88 cents at $23.99

The video game retailer reported nearly flat sales during the holiday period as game software sales rose but console sales slid.

Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc., up $1.55 at $49.03

A Jefferies analyst raised his price target on the pharmaceutical company's stock to $75 from $64 on the company's 2012 guidance.

Nasdaq

Inhibitex Inc., up $13.83 at $23.70

Drugmaker Bristol-Myers said it will acquire the hepatitis C drug developer for $2.5 billion to move into the fast growing market.

InfoSpace Inc., down 4 cents at $10.99

The online search company said it is buying online tax preparation services provider TaxACT for $287.5 million in cash.

Questcor Pharmaceuticals Inc., up $3.19 at $42.14

The drugmaker said it shipped twice as much of its injectable gel H.P. Acthar Gel in the fourth quarter than it did a year ago.

BE Aerospace Inc., up $1.07 at $40.86

The aircraft supplier will buy UFC Aerospace, which makes paints and other products for aircraft manufacturers, for $400 million.
