 "We are listening to what our patients are saying, and we know many
are struggling with the walk from the parking lot to the main
entrance," said Vicki Tolan, director of quality at ALMH. "This new
valet service is already making a big difference, particularly for
cardiopulmonary rehab patients."In the old building, those
patients were able to park just outside the rehabilitation
department. Since the move to the new hospital, patients have noted
on patient satisfaction surveys that they find the walk now much
more cumbersome.
To use the service, a patient simply pulls into the circle drive
at the main hospital entrance, checks in with the attendant and
waits in the lobby for the attendant to return their keys. After
their appointments, patients can then either walk to their cars or
have the valet attendant return their cars to the circle drive.
All ALMH patients and family members are welcome to use the valet
service.
Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital is located at 200 Stahlhut
Drive, just off Lincoln Parkway. It is affiliated with Memorial
Health System, based in Springfield.
