Ruby Irene Sutton, 76, of Marshalltown, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2012 at the Iowa River Hospice House with her husband Ellis by her side.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on
Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown,
Iowa. There will be no visitation the evening before. Burial will be at Pine
Hill Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to Breast Cancer

Ruby Irene Stanberry was born on September 28, 1935 in the University of Iowa
Hospitals; she was the daughter of W.H. and Leona (Lutz) Stanberry. Ruby was
educated in the Des Moines Public Schools system.
On April 17, 1953 Ruby was united in marriage to Ellis Sutton in Des Moines.
Ruby had retired from the insurance industry which she had worked in Des Moines, Iowa and operations and personnel manager for Economy Fire & Casualty in Lincoln, IL. for a number of years. She had been a member of the Insurance Women Organization. Ruby was elected president of the Insurance Woman of Des Moines, Inc., local affiliate of the National Association of the Insurance Women International.
She enjoyed quilting, collecting dolls, owls,
reading and tending flowers, but the most important thing in her life was her
family. In the past few years she spent time making beautiful items with the
Lady’s of Hobby Craft Club of Marshalltown.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband; Ellis of Marshalltown, sons, Paul (Deb)
Sutton of Des Moines and Stephen (Susan) Sutton of Texas, two sisters,
Mary Young and Audry Berenice Cox, seven grandchildren
and 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ruby will be reunited in heaven with her
parents; Willie and Leona Stanberry and siblings; Marvin and Naomi Stanberry and
Esther Delgado.
