Never the Same

My father has told the story for years of the first time he stood at the door and watched me leave for college. He said as he watched my little car go around the corner and out of sight, he knew his life would never be the same again. As proud as he was of me, he was sad to see the turning of this page in his life as well.

Life is made up of a series of events that once they occur, life is never the same. The quality of our lives depends in large part on how we respond to those events. For instance ...

When a couple learns that the result of the home pregnancy test is positive, their lives will never be the same.

When that couple experiences the birth of their first child, their lives will never be the same.

When that child walks through the door to his first day of school, life will never be the same.

When she begins to drive, their lives will never be the same.

When they help her pack her car and watch her drive away to begin her college career, their lives will never be the same.

And then one day that daughter will meet the man of her dreams and he will ask her to marry him and life will never be the same!

When she and her husband learn that the result of the home pregnancy test is positive, and their parents are about to be grandparents, life will never be the same.

Since the first man and the first woman disobeyed the Creator and tasted the forbidden fruit, life has never been the same.

Since Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, because they don't know what they are doing," life has never been the same.

Since Jesus said, "It is finished!" life has never been the same.

Since the disciples discovered the empty tomb, life has never been the same.

When we recognize that we are all sinners and desperately need a Savior, life will never be the same.

Some events change our lives forever whether we like it or not, whether we request it or not, or whether we want it or not. In some areas we can choose to allow our lives to be changed forever. When we say, "I believe" and when we say, I surrender all" and when we say, "Lord, take control!" our lives will never be the same.

Jesus promises that when we choose to walk with Him, our lives will never be the same.

We will be starting a series of sermons in the life of Jesus called, “Never the same.” We will be looking at people who walked with Jesus and the discoveries they made along the way. If you’re interested in a series of messages to bring your friends and families to … this is it. Introduce them to Jesus and they will never be the same.
