[January 26, 2012]  To help celebrate Abraham Lincoln's birthday month, the Lincoln Rec Center will bring the house down with an Old Time Barn Dance on Feb. 25 from 7 to 10 p.m. The event is presented by the folks who bring you the Abraham Lincoln National Railsplitting Festival. The ever-popular dance caller Ozzie Pearl from Weldon will call a variety of old-time dances, and no experience is necessary to learn and enjoy yourself at this event.

HardwareDances will include waltzes, two-steps and slow dances, and Ozzie will show you everything you need to know to participate and have fun.

The event is a fundraiser and prelude for the Abraham Lincoln National Railsplitting Festival Sept. 14-16 at the Logan County Fairgrounds. Ozzie will also bring the barn dance back for the Saturday evening at the popular September festival, now in its 42nd year. The Railsplitting Festival will also continue their Friday night Civil War Ball on Sept. 14. Additional new features of the festival will be announced soon.

Tickets for the February event are $5 for individuals, $7.50 for couples and $10 for families and will be available at the door. No reservations are necessary. Refreshments will be provided. Be on the lookout for "Abe" at the event.
