Lincoln: Mildred V. Sparhakel, age 91, of Lincoln died January 28, 2012 at the Christian Village, Lincoln, Il.

Mildred was born on April 21, 1920 in Lincoln, Il., the daughter of Elmer O. and Marie Krieg Sank. She was united in marriage to Rudolf Sparhakel on October 8, 1944 in Lincoln, Il. He preceded her in death in 1970. She is survived by her cousins: Carl (June) Sank of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Judy Vincent of Lincoln, Il. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services for Mildred will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday February 1, 2012 at Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln with Rev. Mark Thompson officiating. Burial will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln, Il. Visitation will be from 9-11 on Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, Il. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or Zion Lutheran School.

Mildred retired from Lehn & Fink Where she had worked in shipping. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Lincoln and was an avid Lincoln Railer Fan.
