Lincoln College art instructor Christopher Tice taught two classes on
street art at the Lincoln Park
District before the project began.
Street art can take on many forms, from freehand brush to spray cans to the use of stencils. For this
project, stencils played a big part in getting the project "off the
ground." Pictures by Nila

Another hint: Are those cutouts of clouds?

The Kickapoo Street viaduct is in Ward 2. Here,
Ward 2 Alderwoman Jonie Tibbs and husband Harry pitch in to
paint a blue balloon. |
|
|
Gene Mehan reaches to paint a balloon high on
the wall as Taylor Mehan watches.
|
Stencils are used to create the shape; then
brushes or rollers are used to fill in the shape with solid color. |
|
Harry Tibbs finishes up painting where Jonie
can't reach.

Things are starting to take shape, and it is

wonder what else is yet to come?
|
|
Maybe this will give you a hint.

Vinyard and Logan talk about the project while
enjoying a cold drink. |
