Memorial to host remembrance service

[July 07, 2012]  SPRINGFIELD -- Memorial Medical Center will be the host for an interfaith Service of Remembrance on Sunday in the Wedeberg Conference Center.

The service is for families of patients who have died at Memorial Medical Center. The ceremony is also open to parents who have lost a child during pregnancy.

The service will begin at 2 p.m. followed by the planting of a "memory bush" on the grounds of Memorial Medical Center.

The service also provides an opportunity for staff and physicians to remember the patients they cared for and to celebrate their lives with family and friends.

Guests can park in the in the hospital's visitor parking lots across from the main entrance at Miller and First streets. Valet parking is available.

The Wedeberg Conference Center is on the hospital's lower level near its main entrance. Memorial Medical Center is at 701 N. First St. in Springfield.
