LINCOLN-Bonnie M. Gambrel, 87, of Lincoln, formerly of Springfield, Illinois passed away on July 11, 2012 at 10:05 a.m. at Christian Village, Lincoln, IL.

Bonnie was born on December 28, 1924 in New Holland, IL the daughter of Julius and Catharine LaForge Duginger. She married Paul C. Gambrel on January 1, 1946 at Middletown, IL. He preceded her in death on March 27, 2011. Bonnie is survived by one daughter: Vicky (Ron) Klokkenga of Lincoln and one sister: Helen Cecil of Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother: David Edwin Duginger and one niece Julia Loeffelholz.

Bonnie was a homemaker and member of New Holland United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post #715 Auxiliary of New Holland. Bonnie graduated from New Holland High School in the class of 1941.

Services for Mrs. Gambrel will be held Friday, July 13, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln, IL. Burial will be at Richmond Grove Cemetery, New Holland, IL. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. prior to service. Memorials may be given to the New Holland United Methodist Church or Lincoln Christian Village or the Springfield Humane Society.
