Home weatherization available through Together for Lincoln

Send a link to a friend

[July 13, 2012]  Together for Lincoln is offering home weatherization as a part of its annual community service day on Sept. 29. Home weatherization needs could include but are not limited to the installation of doors and windows, caulking around windows, and installing insulation.

Interested families and individuals are encouraged to pick up an application from the Logan County Food Pantry, Holy Family Food Pantry, Community Action, Salvation Army, Oasis, State Bank of Lincoln (Wal-Mart location only) or Jefferson Street Christian Church. Since Together for Lincoln is working to complete the home weatherization projects with a grant, there is a mandatory application deadline of Aug. 1.

In addition to home weatherization, Together for Lincoln is also offering its regular home improvement projects, including services such as painting, yardwork, carpentry, gutter cleaning and the construction of wheelchair ramps. Applications for these projects, along with volunteer applications, will be made available early next week.

Together for Lincoln is a community partnership of over 15 churches in Lincoln. In the past four years, TFL has mobilized over 3,000 volunteers to complete more than 400 service projects in the community.
