Illinois country grain prices were
sharply higher on Thursday afternoon.
A hot and dry extended weather forecast for the cornbelt was the
fuel to drive futures prices to new higher levels.
Strong weekly export sales figures
for soybeans and soybean meal also helped to lift prices.
In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted
shelled corn bids 8 to 16 cents higher at 8.01-8.16.
Soybean bids traded mostly 45 to
52 cents higher at 17.45-17.62.
In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn
bids were 10 to 12 cents higher at 8.18-8.40.
Soybean bids were 48 to 50 cents
higher at 17.49-17.74.
Wheat bids were 31 to 32 cents
higher at 9.00-9.17.
In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 12 to
17 cents higher at 8.24-8.57.
Soybean bids were mostly 40 to 50
cents higher at 17.35-17.79.
