The eighth annual run and walk will be on Sept. 8 in Washington Park
in Springfield. Participants will meet at the picnic shelter area
near the tennis courts and playground. Registration begins at 7
a.m. and a brief program will begin at 8. Bill Coon, a recipient of
a heart transplant and a kidney transplant, is the featured speaker.
The Fireside Relics will perform during the event.
The
Alan G. Birtch, MD, Center for Transplant Services at Memorial
is the event's host.
Participants can visit
MemorialTransplantServices.com to
register online or to print out a registration
form to mail in.
The registration fee is $20 for adults and $10 for 12-year-olds
and younger.

Proceeds go to the hospital's transplant fund, which assists
transplant patients with emergent needs and provides education for
patients and staff.
