Illinois country grain prices were
sharply lower on Monday afternoon.
Speculator and fund selling at the Board of Trade pushed grain
futures lower.
In the USDA's Weekly Crop Progress
report, the US corn crop placed 26% in the good to excellent
category, down 5% from last week.
The US soybean crop fell by 3% by placing 31% in the good to
excellent range.
In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted
shelled corn bids down 10 to 12 cents at 8.09-8.18.
Soybean bids traded 55 to 65 cents lower at 17.14-17.33.
In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn
bids were mostly 10 to 14 cents lower at 8.22-8.40.
Soybean bids were down 58 to 65
cents at 17.23-17.39. Wheat bids were 18 to 25 cents lower at
8.90-8.96. In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 10 to
15 cents lower at 8.24-8.64.
Soybean bids were down 55 to 65
cents at 17.14-17.45.
Wheat bids were 20 to 40 cents lower at 8.72-9.28.
