LAWNDALE -- William "Everett" Kennett,
80, of Lawndale, died Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at St. Clara's Manor
in Lincoln.

Lawndale - William "Everett" Kennett,, 80, of
Lawndale, IL., passed away July 18, 2012 at St.
Clara's Manor.
Visitation will be Monday, July 23, 2012 from 5-7 PM
at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 24,
2012 also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in
Lawndale Cemetery.
Everett was born May 6, 1932 in Cornland, IL., the
son of William Howard and Goldie (Hunter) Kennett.
He married Lois Purdue on October 29, 1950 in
Lincoln, IL. She preceded him in death on August 17,
2009.
He was a faithful member of Lincoln Christian
Church, retired in 1998 as Fire Chief after 28 years
of service, worked for more than 20 years as a
hearing officer for the Illinois Department of
Transportation, was on the board of trustees for the
rural fire department for more than 30 years, was a
member of the Masonic Lodge #210 Blue Lodge, a
member of Lincoln Sportsman's Club, and was
assistant coach for the SCTP kid's trap shooting
team for many years.

Everett loved to fish, hunt pheasants, quail, and
rabbits, and competitively shoot black powder and
trap.
He is survived by: son William Howard "Bird Dog"
Kennett (Sharon) of Broadwell, IL.; daughter Karen
(Jerry) Birdwell of Lincoln, IL.; son Mark Leroy
(Tamara) Kennett of Emden, IL.; son Timothy (Tami)
Kennett of Lincoln, IL.; son Douglas Lee Kennett of
Lincoln, IL.; 8 grandchildren; 9 great
grandchildren; sister Margie Hense of California;
sister Pauline White of Lincoln, IL.; and sister
Loretta (Bob) Molloy of Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife
Lois, and sister Juanita Millard.
Memorial donations may be made to The Harvest of
Talents For World Hunger and will be accepted at the
funeral home.
