[July 23, 2012]  Leslie Scott Garvey of Elkhart will retire from Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital this month after a long career in nursing.

Leslie has worked at ALMH for 12 years and currently serves as a staff nurse in acute care.

Garvey looks forward to a retirement of more travel. She has visited several countries but looks forward to seeing many more. She also plans to play more bridge as she has just been named a Life Master in duplicate bridge. Most important, she looks forward to spending time with her six grandchildren in South Bend, Ind.

Garvey is happy for her retirement but has cherished her time at ALMH. She is proud to have been part of helping people. She says that is what she enjoyed the most about being part of ALMH.

"We give such good care to our patients because we can. We have great staff and a great patient-to-staff ratio," said Garvey.

When asked about her fondest memories, she told of meeting many incredible patients and their families. She has made many friends during her time at ALMH.
