[July 24, 2012]  (AP)  A storm will move out of the Rockies and into the Plains on Tuesday, bringing another round of scattered showers and thunderstorms through the Rockies and Dakotas.

Much of this precipitation will fall in the afternoon and evening. This precipitation will do very little to bring relief to drought-stricken areas of the middle of the country, but any precipitation does help.

Meanwhile, a storm will move out of the Northeast and into the Atlantic Ocean. This storm could provide the heaviest rain in the country as moderate to occasionally heavy rain will fall through the Northeast. This storm could also provide breezy to windy conditions, mostly from Pennsylvania northward.

To the north, a few showers are possible in Montana and Wyoming as a front moves through the area.

Many areas of the country will continue to experience very high temperatures, with the warmest conditions in the triple digits in the Plains and Southwest. The Southeast will rise into the 90s and 100s, while the Northeast will see temperatures in the 70s and 80s, except in the Mid-Atlantic, where temperatures will be in the 90s. The Northwest will rise into the 70s and 80s.
