Tuesday
evening, the Habitat for Humanity of Logan County
board of directors recognized Joe Funk as the
2011 Outstanding Volunteer of the Year.
Funk has invested the last several years in
helping Habitat help families in need of safe, affordable housing. He also has devoted
hours to building the annual playhouses the
organization raffles off, helped with the
building of the new Habitat warehouse and
volunteers with the electronics recycling days.
Pictured at right with board president Michael
Erwin, Funk was given a plaque, and
his name was added to the Habitat "Wall of Fame"
plaque for 2011.

charge in Logan County and across the world. Email condolences are

named the 2012 recipient of the Marian Anderson Award, which
honors artists whose leadership benefits humanity. The
critically acclaimed stage and screen actor will accept the
award at a Nov. 19 gala at the Kimmel Center for the Performing
Arts in Philadelphia.
