Vehicle fire in the 200 block of Southgate On June 6 at
2:57 a.m., the Lincoln Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire
in the 200 block of Southgate.
The owner(s) of the vehicle noticed smoke coming from the dash
and called 911 from a nearby residence.
The Lincoln Fire Department arrived on the scene to find a
heavily involved four-door passenger car in the roadway and quickly
controlled the fire with a 1.75-inch hand line.
There were no reported injuries
The vehicle is a total loss of approximately $3,000.
The cause of the fire appears to be an electrical fault within
the dashboard but is officially classified as undetermined. No foul
play is suspected.
