The Humane Society of Logan County shelter has everything an animal needs to be happy and healthy except a "forever family."

The facility can house approximately 30 cats and 12 dogs at any one time. The society also uses foster families for some animals.

There are four "free roaming" cat rooms. The cats have toys, beds and other things they need to be comfortable.

The dogs have indoor kennels in the back of the building. Each one has its own toys and beds.

The dogs have doggie doors where they can go outside into a personal space or be taken on out into the yard to stretch their legs and roam a bit.

There are four heating and cooling zones in the building: one for the people space, one for the cat space, one for the dog space and one for the isolation room.

When animals arrive at the shelter, they are kept in the isolation room for a brief period. During that time they are checked for various diseases. Once they have a clean bill of health, they are put into the general population.
