 This storm will produce rain along with thunderstorms that will gradually diminish as the day progresses. There is a slight chance these thunderstorms could turn severe, producing heavy rain, large hail and even the possibility of tornadoes. Residents in northern Wisconsin and Michigan should monitor local weather conditions and be prepared to protect life and property from adverse weather.
Another storm will develop in the Plains before moving into Manitoba by the end of the day. This storm will not be exceedingly strong, but it will produce areas of rain and thunderstorms in the Dakotas and Minnesota in the afternoon and evening. Some of these thunderstorms may also become severe.
Aside from a few isolated thunderstorms in eastern Texas and the Carolinas, the southern half of the country will remain dry. A high pressure system along the
Eastern Seaboard will aid in this dry weather. This system will also allow temperatures to soar for much of the East as afternoon conditions will warm into the 90s from southern Minnesota through Florida. The Northeast will also be quite warm, with some areas warming into the 90s.
Warm to hot conditions in California and the Southwest will continue, with many areas reaching into the triple digits once again.
The Northeast will rise into the 80s and some 90s, while the Southeast will see temperatures in the 90s. The
southern Plains and Southwest will rise into the 90s and 100s, while the Northwest will see temperatures in the 70s.
Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Monday ranged from a morning low of 34 degrees at Yellowstone, Wyo., to a high of 109 degrees at Glendale Luke AFB, Ariz.
