Illinois country grain prices were
lower on Thursday afternoon, with corn and soybeans sharply
lower.
Fund selling at the Board of Trade
and poor
economic news pushed grain prices lower.
In the cash grain markets trading
activity has been slow.
Cash basis levels at many corn
processors ended sharply lower on Thursday with losses of 15 to
21 cents noted.
In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted
shelled corn bids 27 to 29 cents lower at 6.07-6.30.
Soybean bids traded 6 cents lower
at
14.22-14.33.
In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn
bids were 38 to 42 cents lower at 6.00-6.18.
Soybean bids were 6 to 12 cents
lower at
14.22-14.42.
Wheat bids were 2 to 7 cents lower
at 6.32-6.60.
In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 20 to
25 cents lower at 6.08-6.43.
Soybean bids were mostly 4 to 8
cents lower at 14.32-14.45.
Wheat bids were 4 to 9 cents lower
at 6.50-6.70.
