The EMA is advising against all controlled outdoor burning,
including cropland burn-offs. Recreational fires should be monitored
closely with a readily available water source or other extinguishing
agent. As the Fourth of July approaches, the agency will be
monitoring the situation as fireworks can be a major source of
grassland fires. Everyone should be monitoring the National
Weather Service or commercial weather broadcasts as this drought
situation continues and the possibility of burn bans remains very
real.
