Margaret 'Peggy' Pulliam

[March 01, 2012]  LINCOLN -- Margaret A. "Peggy" Wood Pulliam, 80, of Lincoln, formerly of Effingham, died Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012, at 8:30 p.m. at St. Clara's Manor.

LINCOLN-Margaret A. (Peggy) Wood Pulliam, 80, of Lincoln, formerly of Effingham, passed away at 8:30 p.m. on February 29, 2012 at St. Clara's Manor, Lincoln.

Margaret was born on May 23, 1931 in Uniontown, PA, the daughter of Raymond Martin and Rena Blanche Jackson Wood. After her mother's death, she was raised by her uncle and aunt: Dr. George and Nannen Wood. She married Marion F. Pulliam in June, 1958 in Effingham, IL. He preceded her in death October 1997.

Margaret is survived by two children: Gary N. (Diana) Pulliam of Switz, IN and Vicki S. (David) Shouse of Lincoln; two brothers: Raymond M. (Susan) Wood of Manchester, TN and Harry (Carol) Wood of Fallbrook, CA. She was raised with cousins Patricia (John) Hemann of Shaker Height, OH and George (Mary Pat) Wood of Effingham. She has four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; stepson: Randy L. Pulliam and uncle and aunt: Dr. George and Nannen Wood.

Margaret was a retired teacher and housewife. She taught in Elgin, IL before her marriage and substituted in Effingham School District. She was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church of Lincoln.

Local arrangements handled by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln. Service arrangements will be announced at a later date by Johnson & Son Funeral Home, Effingham, IL. Memorials may be made to Harper Light Hospice;
St. Clara's Manor or Trinity Episcopal Church.
