            		MOUNT PULASKI -- Doris Louise Rentmeister 
			Bertsche, 100, of Mount Pulaski, died Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, at 
			Vonderlieth Living Center. (Below is a copy of 
							the obituary from the funeral home.) ___ 
							Mt. Pulaski: Doris Louise Rentmeister Bertsche, 100, 
							passed away peacefully on February 27, 2012 at 
							Vonderlieth Living Center. She was born in Mt. 
							Pulaski, IL, December 29, 1911 to Edward and Rena 
							Broughton Rentmeister. She was one of eight 
							children.  
							Louise married John Bertsche and they had twins in 
							1934, Bernardine Louise (Donald) Shutt and Bernard 
							Leon (Sharon Parks). She loved being a mother and 
							delighted in her grandchildren Mark (Shari), Jeffrey 
							(deceased and Gregory (Stephanie) Shutt and Crystal 
							Bertsche (deceased). She has three great 
							granddaughters, Brittany (Ben) Conine, Jacquie and 
							Madison Shutt. 
							She was preceded in death by all of her siblings, 
							her husband, children, and four grandchildren. | 
                    
					 
							She was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran 
							Church in Mt. Pulaski. She was a homemaker and then 
							worked for many years at Bressmer's Department Store 
							in women's apparel in Springfield.  
							Louise loved gardening, flowers, sewing, knitting 
							and crafts. She loved painting and ceramics. She was 
							an avid card player and enjoyed weekly games with 
							her friends Erma, Margaret and Wilma. Her passion 
							was loving people.  
							During her time at Vonderlieth, she loved to walk 
							the halls and visit with friends. She was quick with 
							a smile and loved everyone.  
							Her family would like to give special thanks to 
							Helen Schmidt and the dedicated, compassionate staff 
							at Vonderlieth for their kind service to Louise.  
							Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's 
							Lutheran Church. 
							A graveside service will be held at Mt. Pulaski 
							Cemetery at 2:00 P.M. Saturday March, 3, 2012. 
							Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Mt. Pulaski, 
							is handling arrangements.  |
