"I feel like I'm well prepared," said Feliz, who gave up three runs on three hits with a pair of strikeouts in two innings. "I worked on my pitches coming in and I came in more comfortable knowing I'm going to be a starter."
White Sox starter Hector Santiago went two scoreless innings, allowing two hits, walking one and striking out three.
"He's a bulldog out there," said White Sox manager Robin Venture. "He doesn't back down."
NOTES: The White Sox avoided their first 0-4 spring start since 2007 and gave Ventura his first win. . Chicago RHP Gavin Floyd threw three innings in a "B" game on the back fields of Texas' Surprise complex, allowing two runs on five hits with a walk and two strikeouts in three innings. . Rangers 1B/OF Brad Hawpe did not play in the "B" game as scheduled today as he continues to work through a sore right hamstring. . White Sox OF Brandon Short left the game in the bottom of the eighth when he collided awkwardly with the center-field wall. . Rangers DH Michael Young, who sprained his left thumb diving for a ball on Wednesday, felt better Thursday but did not play.
