John S. Pelc Jr., 90, of Lincoln, died Saturday, March 10,
2012, at 1:50 a.m. at St. Clara's Manor.

passed away on Saturday,
March 10, 2012 at 1:50
a.m. at St. Clara's
Manor in Lincoln.
A Mass of Christian
Burial will be held on
Tuesday, March 13,
2012 at 11:00 a.m. at
Holy Family Catholic
Church in Lincoln with
Rev. Glenn Fontana
officiating.
Visitation will be held
for one hour prior to
the service at the
church.
Burial will be at St.
Mary's Cemetery in
Lincoln.
Peasley Funeral Home is
in charge of
arrangements.
John Stanley Pelc, Jr.
was born on November 3,
1921 in Lincoln the son
of John Stanley Pelc
Sr., and Antonia
Rudzienski Pelc. He
married Mineva Henning
of Elkader, Iowa on
February 5, 1946. She
survives.
Also surviving are his
two daughters: Diana
(Ward) McDonald of
Mahomet, Il. and
Paulette (Robert)
Vandercook of Phoenix,
Az., Four grandsons:
John Pelc Vanderhook,
Aron, Joel and Brent
McDonald, three
stepgrandsons, three
great granddaughters,
one brother: Joseph Pelc
of Lincoln.

He was preceded in death
by two brothers: Edward
Pelc and Henry Pelc.
John attended St. Mary's parochial school and
graduated from Lincoln High School in 1940. He served in the
Quartermaster Corp of the United States Air Force during WW II and was
stationed at Goose Bay Labrador at the time of his discharge in 1943. He
opened the Lincoln Cycle Center in 1944 at 202 S Chicago Street and in
1959 he moved the business to 225 Clinton Street. In 1996 he sold the
business and entered retirement at the age of 75 after having been in
business for 56 years.
He was a member of Holy Family Church and was a lifetime member of
Lincoln Elks Lodge # 914.
