The sectional-bound contest play and
group interpretation teams from Lincoln Community High School will
host a free public performance of their sectional entries on
Thursday, beginning at 7 p.m. |
The group interpretation team will perform Jonathan Safran Foer's
"Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" in the Instructional Materials
Center. The 30-minute interpretation of the 2005 novel tells a
distinct story based on the novel, rather than the movie version,
but still follows Oskar Schell, an 8-year-old who loses his father
in the World Trade Center on 9/11. The group interpretation story is
directed by Jennifer Keith and assisted by Elizabeth Landes.
Following that performance, audience members will go down the
hallway to the band room for the contest play presentation of
William Gibson's "The Miracle Worker." The contest play is directed
by Brian Welter and will last under 40 minutes.Typically, both of
these performances would be in the LCHS auditorium, but it is
undergoing renovations to the seats and ceiling.
