Illinois country grain prices were lower on Tuesday afternoon, with corn and soybeans sharply lower. The lack of export news, especially from China, and fund selling at the Board of Trade pushed grain futures lower.

In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids 16 cents lower at 6.29-6.39. Soybean bids traded 22 to 26 cents lower at 13.10-13.27.

In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were 16 cents lower at 6.36-6.53. Soybean bids were mostly 20 to 22 cents lower at 13.24-13.32.

In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 16 to 19 cents lower at 6.45-6.64. Soybean bids were 18 to 24 cents lower at 13.27-13.47. Wheat bids were 9 to 10 cents lower at 6.20-6.48.
