Logan County's own Peggy Lee spoke about her community, Elkhart. She focused on the Elkhart Library, telling how the library began after a pledge from the town to go "dry" for three years.

Stacy Wachtel spoke about the Heritage In Flight Museum at the Logan County Airport. She pointed out that the beacon at the airport was used by Charles Lindbergh when he was flying the mail.

Marla Blair, vice president of the Logan County Genealogical & Historical Society, explained the health condition of Bill Donath.

Wanda Lee Rohlfs, executive director of  Main Street Lincoln, introduces Theresa Richert and Jackie Baker. The two received state-level recognition last year as Illinois Main Street Volunteers of the Year.

Main Street board president Seth Goodman watches from aside.

Richert and Baker graciously accept praises from Rohlfs.

Rohlfs recognizes a valuable volunteer, Mary Kelley, who last year gave of her time daily to assist Main Street in keeping the new flower planters on the square watered.

Kelley smiles happily at the gift given to her by the Main Street organization.  She said working with the members of the LCHS National Honor Society last year in the watering project was a great pleasure, with the added perk of getting to spend more time with her daughter.
