Lincoln Boy
Scout Troop 102 hosted a barbecue fundraiser Sunday at the Knights of Columbus
Hall.
The event actually
began several days earlier, when meat was hauled out of the Lincoln IGA on Wednesday night. On
Thursday it was prepared with barbecue
spice rubs, and then the cooking began on Saturday.
On Sunday, approximately
1,200 plates of slow-roasted goodness were delivered with all the
trimmings to hungry customers.

couples, individuals and families, then were cleaned and reset.

Over 1,200 people sat,
ate and enjoyed visiting. Few plates had anything left on them.
|
|
Manned (and womaned) by
assistant Scout leaders, the kitchen assembly line ran like a well-oiled machine, turning out an American classic of homemade pork
barbecue
sandwiches, potato salad, coleslaw, warm baked beans and choice of
homemade dessert.
|
And finally, you can't have a good fundraiser
without a great dessert table! With a selection that included
cupcakes, cookies, brownies, a variety of cakes and more, once again
diners would not have been disappointed with the selection before
them.
