Lennar, Skechers, Apollo Group are market movers

[March 28, 2012]  NEW YORK (AP) -- Stocks that moved substantially or traded heavily Tuesday on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq Stock Market:

Lennar Corp., up $1.23 at $27.63

The homebuilder posted first-quarter results that beat analysts' expectations as it delivered more homes and pulled in more orders.

Skechers USA Inc., down $1.21 at $13.09

Wedbush initiated coverage of the footwear maker with an "Underperform" rating, saying that its new lightweight shoe is not selling well.

Wabash National Corp., up 93 cents at $10.71

The truck trailer manufacturer said it is buying liquid-transportation company Walker Group Holdings LLC for $360 million in cash.

Nasdaq

Rent-A-Center Inc., up $1.08 at $38.39

A Stifel Nicolaus analyst upgraded the company, which rents furniture, electronics and other home items, to "Buy" from "Hold."

ISTA Pharmaceuticals Inc., up 66 cents at $9.04

Eye-health company Bausch & Lomb said that it plans to buy eye drug maker ISTA Pharmaceuticals for about $500 million in cash.

Zhongpin Inc., up $2.01 at $11.22

The chairman and CEO of the Chinese meat and food processing company has offered to buy it and take it private.

Apollo Group Inc., down $3.66 at $39.54

The private education company reported a profit for its fiscal second quarter, but revenue and enrollment at its schools fell.

Crocs Inc., up 3 cents at $21.27

Trading volume was above average after a Wedbush analyst started coverage of the footwear company with an "Outperform" rating and said the stock could trade higher.
