Lunch-goers bust a move in Sweden

[March 28, 2012]  STOCKHOLM (AP) -- Some workers in Sweden have found a rather offbeat way to spend their lunch hour. Actually, on-beat is more like it.

Dripping with sweat and awash in disco lights, they dance to pulsating club music at Lunch Beat, a monthly event that started in Stockholm and is rapidly spreading to other cities in Europe.

The first event was held in an underground parking lot in 2010. Now Lunch Beats are held monthly in Stockholm to crowds of hundreds. The latest event on March 20 was held in a downtown cultural center.

Organizers say the party starts at noon and goes on for one hour. There is no alcohol, which means there's a different ambiance compared to nighttime clubbing.

Similar events have been held in at least 10 other Swedish cities and in Finland and Serbia.
