            		LINCOLN -- Evelyn Logan, 84, of 
			Lincoln, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at 10:25 a.m. at Abraham 
			Lincoln Memorial Hospital. (Below is a copy of 
							the obituary from the funeral home.) ___ 
							LINCOLN-Evelyn Logan, 84, of Lincoln, IL died at 
							10:25 a.m. on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Abraham 
							Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Lincoln, IL. 
							Evelyn was born on October 15, 1927 at Elkhart, IL 
							the daughter of Charles and Jessie Mae De Frates 
							Sloan. She married Edgar L. Logan on May 22, 1949 in 
							Lincoln at her parents home. He survives in Lincoln. 
							Evelyn is also survived by three sons: Lee (Barbara) 
							Logan of Peoria, IL; Roy Logan of Lincoln and John 
							(Becky) Logan of Sherman; one brother: Chuck (Mary 
							Ann) Sloan of Lincoln; one sister: Helen Singley of 
							Lincoln; four grandchildren and two great 
							grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her 
							parents; two brothers: Stephen "Bud" and Robert 
							Sloan; four sisters: Helena "Sis" Hurley; Margaret 
							Newberry; Gladys Aper and Hope Klockenga. | 
                    
					 
							Evelyn was a member of Lincoln Christian Church; she 
							was a chaperone for Good News Publishing Co. Church 
							Choir; Sunday school superintendent of Lincoln 
							Christian Church; Volunteer at Jefferson School 
							Library; member of Harvest of Talents; Deaconess at 
							Lincoln Christian Church; and member of the Sarah 
							Circle; Citizen of the Month, Lincoln Courier; 
							Tutored second and fifth grade students; was on the 
							Board of Education for 18 years for Lincoln 
							Elementary School District #27; and President of 
							Community Concert. 
							Services will be held Friday, March 30, 2012 at 
							10:30 a.m. at Lincoln Christian Church with Tim 
							Searby officiating. Burial will be at New Union 
							Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00-7:00 
							at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln. 
							There will also be an hour visitation prior to 
							service on Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, 
							memorials may be given to District 27 Technology 
							Improvements or Lincoln Christian Church Harvest of 
							Talents. |
