William H. "Barney" Mason, 90, died Thursday, March 29, 2012, at
3:15 p.m. at St. Clara's Manor.

Lincoln- William H. "Barney" Mason, 90,passed away
at 3:15 P.M. on March 29, 2012 at St. Clara’s Manor
in Lincoln.
William was born on May 2, 1921 in Chestnut the son
of Charles E. and Oleta Bell Mason. He married Verna
M. Stoll on Feb. 22, 1946 in Lincoln, IL. His wife
of 66 years survives in Lincoln. Other survivors
include his son: Joe (Lisa) Mason of Mt. Pulaski;
one brother: Glenn (Dorothy) Mason of Mt. Pulaski;
two sisters: Nola Jean Peterson of Mt. Pulaski;
Lillie Mae Faith of Sullivan, IL; three
granddaughters; two step granddaughters and four
great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his
parents; two brothers; and two sisters.

Barney was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of
Lincoln; Served in the U.S. Army during WWII from
1941-1945; and he was a Logan County Auxiliary
Police for 38 years. William farmed until 1996.
Services for William will be held at 10:30 A.M. on
Monday, April 2, 2012 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln with Rev. Mark Thompson
officiating. There will be a visitation one hour
prior to the service. Burial will be at Mt. Pulaski
Cemetery following the service. Memorials may be
made to Zion Lutheran Church of Lincoln or Logan
County Auxiliary Police.
