Marilyn R. Crippen, 82, of Lincoln, died Wednesday, April 25, 2012,
at 7:52 a.m. at her home.

LINCOLN-Marilyn R. Crippen, 82, of Lincoln, passed
away on April 25, 2012 at 7:52 a.m. at her home.
Marilyn was born on December 20, 1929 in Mounds, IL
the daughter of Louis and Zelma Mesker Underhile.
She married Gerald E. Crippen on March 13, 1947 in
Ullin, IL. He survives in Lincoln.
Marilyn is also survived by one daughter: Cynthia
"Cindy" (Gary) Minder of Lincoln; one son: Gerald E.
Crippen of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; one sister: Anita
Frizzell of Lincoln; three grandchildren: Kristen
(David) Lanning of Lincoln; Angela (William) Majino
of Fenton, MO; Matthew (Carissa) Minder of
University City, MO; and three great-grandchildren:
Alexandria “Lexy” Lanning, Annika “Ania” Lanning,
and Vincent "Vinny" Majino. Her parents preceded her
in death.

Marilyn worked and retired from the First State Bank of
Olmsted; she worked as a clerk and retired a second time as
the manager of the motor bank at Logan County Bank, Lincoln.
She was a member of the Community of Christ Church, Decatur,
IL. She was a superannuated priest in the church; former
historian at Community of Christ Church in Marion, IL. She
made baby quilts for numerous people.
Visitation for Mrs. Crippen will be Sunday, April 29 from
5:00-7:00 p.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home,
127 S. Logan St. Lincoln. A family graveside service
will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery, Lincoln
with Evangelist Richard Streibich officiating. A luncheon
will be served at Community of Christ Church, 5655 Union
School Road, Decatur, IL 62522 at noon followed by a
memorial service officiated by Deby Klein, Pastor and Elder,
and Evangelist Richard Streibich. Memorials may be given to
Community of Christ Church of Decatur or the American Cancer
Society.
