Possibility of severe weather into Thursday night

Send a link to a friend

[May 02, 2012]  There is a chance that showers and thunderstorms could move into the area this morning, mainly along and northwest of the Illinois River. Otherwise, conditions across the area Wednesday will be partly to mostly sunny and very warm. There is a small chance that some showers and storms could affect extreme northern parts of the area tonight.

The threat of thunderstorms will continue tomorrow afternoon and into tomorrow night as a frontal system gets a little closer to the area. These storms will begin in the northwest and then move southeast into the evening hours. There is a slight risk that some of these storms could become severe, with large hail and damaging winds being the primary threat. Temperatures tomorrow will remain very warm for early May.
