Illinois country grain prices were
sharply lower on Wednesday afternoon. Technical, fund, and
speculative selling at the Board of Trade pushed grain futures
lower. Prices ended lower despite several export sales announced
by the USDA, one sale of 204,000 metric tonnes of soybeans and
the other a sale of 130,000 metric tonnes of corn.
In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted
shelled corn bids mostly 13 to 17 cents lower at 6.18-6.28.
Soybean bids traded 14 to 20 cents lower at 14.54-14.68.
In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn
bids were 18 cents lower at 6.23-6.36. Soybean bids were 15 to
18 cents lower at 14.64-14.77.
In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 17
cents lower at 6.36-6.47. Soybean bids were 18 cents lower at
14.68-14.88. Wheat bids were 32 to 33 cents lower at 5.92-6.10.
