Whitbeck recognized at Indiana Rotary conference

[May 11, 2012]  Last weekend at the Indiana state conference of Rotary clubs, in French Lick, Ind., John Whitbeck was recognized as the "large club President of the Year" and awarded a plaque. He currently serves as the president of New Albany/Clarksville Rotary. He previously held several other club offices there.

Whitbeck is the son of Larry and Joy Whitbeck of Lincoln. He graduated from Lincoln Community High School in 1995 and from Lincoln Christian University in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in business. In 1995, Whitbeck was the recipient of a scholarship from the Lincoln Rotary to help with his college education. That scholarship played a role in his joining Rotary International.

He is currently the president of the New Albany, Ind., MainSource Bank and the corporate marketing president of the MainSource Financial Group, based in Greensburg, Ind. He lives in the area with his wife, Sara, and daughters Grace and Bailey.
