Community Action announced last week that while there was a goal of
2,000, the agency collected close to 3,000 diapers. The diapers will
be distributed to families in need who participate in Community
Action programs.
"In poor and low-income families, a baby can spend a day or longer
in one diaper, leading to potential health and abuse risks. As a
rising number of families throughout central Illinois struggle to
pay the rent and put food on the table, households with young
children face the added burden of providing diapers, an
often-overlooked expense that is not covered by WIC or food
assistance programs. We appreciate the individuals and businesses
that helped us to make our first diaper drive a success," said
Angela Stoltzenburg, executive director.Community Action
Partnership of Central Illinois is a not-for-profit agency serving
the low-income and senior populations of six counties in central
Illinois. For more information, visit
