'Help for Homeowners' Mortgage Resource Fair in Springfield on

SPRINGFIELD -- On Saturday, help from
Attorney General Lisa Madigan's office will be available during the
Mortgage Resource Fair at the attorney general's office in
Springfield. Housing counselors will be available to homeowners in
need and will provide information about preventing foreclosure and
avoiding foreclosure rescue scams.

What: "Help for Homeowners" Mortgage Resource Fair When:
Saturday, May 19, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Where: Attorney general's office, 500 S. Second St.,
Springfield
Mortgage lenders including Bank of America, Citi, PNC and Wells
Fargo will meet with homeowners and provide information on obtaining
loan modifications. Homeowners planning to complete a loan
modification application are urged to bring the following items:

Most recent pay
stubs (two months) for all wage earners and household members
with income
-
If receiving
government benefits, a current award letter (including
unemployment benefits)
-
If receiving child
support, a copy of current court order and proof of payments
-
Most recent bank
statements (two months)
-
Most recent W-2's
for all sources of income
-
Most recent federal
tax returns (two years)
-
Complete and accurate budget
