MOUNT PULASKI -- Vernon A. Hassebrock,
89, of Mount Pulaski, died Friday, May 11, 2012, at Villa East
Retirement Home in Sherman.

Mt. Pulaski- Vernon A. Hassebrock, 89, of Mt.
Pulaski, passed away May 11, 2012 at Villa East
Retirement Home in Sherman IL.
Vernon was the son of John W. and Anna Maxheimer
Hassebrock. Vernon was born on November 30, 1922 in
El Paso, IL. Vernon married Marcella Clancy on
December 22, 1951 in Springfield, IL. She preceded
him in death on January 15, 2005. Vernon was in the
United States Army from December 1, 1942 to November
14, 1945; he was awarded 2 Bronze Stars for service
in WWII. Vernon was an active member of Zion
Lutheran Church in Mt Pulaski.

Vernon was a carpenter with his brothers Loren and
Ray Hassebrock. They built many homes in Mt.
Pulaski, Lincoln, and Springfield.
Vernon is survived by his brothers: John Hassebrock
of Lincoln; Glen (Muriel) Hassebrock of Decatur;
sisters: Lois (Wilbur) Ruwe of Beason, IL; Alma
Stoll of Mt. Pulaski; Ethel Hein of San Jose, CA;
and he is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to parents and wife, Vernon was preceded
in death by his brothers Harold, Loren, Melvin, Ray,
and his sister Anna Roos.
Services for Vernon will be Tuesday May 15 at 10:30
AM at Fricke Calvert Schrader Funeral Home in Mt.
Pulaski with Rev. David Ramirez officiating.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 A.M. prior to the
service on Tuesday. Burial will be in Mt. Pulaski
Cemetery with full military rites by Mt. Pulaski
American Legion Post #447. Memorials may be made to
the Zion Lutheran Church in Mt. Pulaski.
