FFA debate team
Hartsburg-Emden's Future Farmers of America ag issues debate team
won the
state competition.
The team's topic on diesel emission regulations focused primarily on
farm
equipment, but their in-depth studies created awareness of
environmental
impact where fossil fuels are used in many other fields as well.
Coach Betsy Pech complimented the students not only for their
delivery, but also for the in-depth research they conducted into
diesel emissions and the impact on the environment. It was the
toughest topic she has had a team cover.
In October the team will represent the Illinois FFA at the National
FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind.
The team consists of Erin Rankin, Noah Cross, Cole Baker, Alicia
Clark, Willow Krumwiede and Natalie Nowantney.
